As women, we are pressured to look good all the time and be ready to serve others in our lives. Women are also expected to bounce back after pregnancy, a sexist comment or even an accident. I’ve asked my friend and amazing makeup artist/ hair stylist for various TV shows and movies, Christine Sciortino, to co-host the next Flower Girls Meet: Beauty Unfiltered, as she discusses her recent accident which left her unable to work for many months. With the help of physical therapy and undeniable resilience, she’s bounced back, working again in the fast-moving industry.
During the past two meet-ups - career night and the mental health talk - a common theme was the power of connecting with the right people and building better connections generally. This can be simple for some, while it is an acquired skill for others, but ultimately, it is a very important skill for all of us to master in our lives. Our work and personal lives are enhanced when we are better communicators and listeners. It all starts internally and relates to the way we view the world. Let’s meet to dissect and discuss the different ways we’ve learned to build better connections in our lives.

Hey CHI GALS! Did you know May is Mental Health Awareness Month? Let’s meet next month to discuss and explore mindful techniques to better your mental health. I’ve asked my friend Christina E. Fontenelle to speak to us about her best practices. Christina is an Art & Dance/ Movement Therapist who uses a multi-modal approach to provide a safe, non-judgmental setting to facilitate personal growth and healing for her clients. Just as we focus on our bodies (inside and out), we should be diligent about how we’re training our minds. What we think, we become. You’re invited to come share your insights and learn from Christina and other women too!
